Overview

It has been observed that there is a huge gap between industry requirement and technical courses being thought in the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). This is due to lack of awareness and financial funding. As a result many of the students undergoing courses from these institutes are not employable. This is becoming a major area of concern and therefore Wagons Skill Foundation has taken an initiative to conduct regular training sessions in such institutes so that the students will be aware of the current industry trends.

As part of this initiative and on the occasion of Youth Skill Day, one such training program was conducted in Camp Education Society’s Industrial Training Institute by Wagons Skill Foundation.

Location & Date: Camp Education Society’s Industrial Training Institute,Pune on July 15th, 2016.
Guest of Honour: This session was conducted by Mr. K. V. Pai.
No. of Participants: Around 80 students were part of the session.

Objective & Scope

Our aim was to provide training to the students so as to reduce the skill gap, between what is being taught at institute level, and what is required by the industry to make the students more employable. We had invited Mr K. V. Pai who has over 35 years of experience in the auto industry and has worked with companies like BEML & Tata Motors for sharing his experiences and throwing light on the current market scenario. Mr Pai briefed the students on the current industry trends and requirements of the corporates in various sectors.

Session Highlights

  • Current Industry requirements.
  • What is required to be done to keep up the pace with the changing industry requirements.
  • Importance of skill development.
  • Benefits of Skill Development.
  • Q & A Session and Experience sharing.

The entire session was interactive and to make it more interesting role plays and activities were also conducted. As per the feedback received from the students the session was informative and they would love to have similar sessions at a regular interval.
